UNIVERSITIES AND COLLEGES CHRISTIAN FELLOWSHIP: BIBLE STUDY COORDINATOR


BIBLE STUDY COORDINATOR
The primary objective is to encourage the consistent personal and group study of the Bible in UCCF. Bible Study (BS) must be seen as equally important as prayer, thus calling UCCFers to develop and practise a balanced biblical lifestyle.

Qualifications
    Is a growing disciple of Jesus Christ.

    Is committed to God’s ministry through UCCF on campus.

    Is a serious student of God’s Word as evident by their lifestyle.

    Has led Bible Study (BS) before and has received training in the various methods of BS.

    Is spiritually gifted as a teacher and an evangelist (Rom.12:6-8, 1Cor.12:4-11, 28-31, Eph4:7, 11-16, Jm.3:1, 1Pet.4:10-11).

    Is an experienced small group discussion leader.

    Has the discipline to maintain a good academic standard during their term of office.

Relationship with Steering Committee (SC)
  • Instills in each SC member the need for daily personal BS.

  • Keeps before the SC the vision and importance of systematic BS.

  • Liaise with the Cell Group Leaders, Prayer and Counselling Coordinator and the Vice President of Discipleship to share on the climate of BS in these departments.

  • Evaluates plans for BS in UCCF and makes the necessary changes.

Relationship with UCCF
    Educates UCCF on the centrality of BS as an essential component for Christian growth.

    Encourages maximum participation of members of BS.

    Encourages members to have a daily BS as part of their personal meeting with God.

    Schedules training events in BS methods.

    Recruits and trains BS leaders.

    Promotes literature, books and resources that enhance the priority of BS.

    Regularly attends LGM’s.

General Oversight
Ω    Is responsible for the Weekly BS discussion forum, which promotes systematic BS and allows for fruitful discussion.

Ω    Helps to recruit and train the new Bible Study Coordinator.
