EVALUATING CRITERIA
HIGH:
Handwriting clear,
neat, and consistent. Forms all letters legibly with consistent spacing between
letters and words.
MIDDLE:
Handwriting usually
readable, but some words and letters difficult to recognise. Some crowding of
letters and words.
LOW:
Handwriting difficult or impossible to read. Letters and words crowded. Formation of letters inconsistent. Writing often illegible.
EXAMPLE OF SOURCE MATERIAL:
Basis diagnostic writing introduced, using a simple "Hurricane Emergency Information" card. An additional leaflet on the "African Slave Forts" was also used during these exercises.
NOTE:
Some students may require specialized clinical evaluation, intervention and remediation to address what appears to be severe writing deficiencies. This however, exists outside the perimeters of our present school environment and may require intervention from the Parent Teachers’ Association to lobby for the relevant assistance, funding and technology from the relevant authorities to aid in this process.
