Introduction:
Christ is the Answer Family Church (CITAFC) is a place where you can BELONG. We believe that Jesus intends for His church to be a loving and caring community where people are encourage to BELIEVE in Him so they can BECOME the person God created them to be.
Mission Statement / Vision:
The mission of the Men's Ministry is to create an environment where men are motivated and encouraged to develop a personal relationship with Jesus Christ and to grow together. Its aim is also to challenge men to discover, develop and deploy their spiritual and practical gifts to reach out to our world.
Fellowship Goals and Functions:
1. Helping men become spiritual leaders in their household
2. Men's breakfast gatherings (twice yearly)
3. Men's Bible studies
4. Men's retreats (at least once a year)
5. Men's small groups
6. Men's outreach projects
7. Men's fellowship hour on Sundays (Sunday School)
8. Men's social activities
Values:
1. Communication: Spending time with God in prayer and in His word.
2. Connection: Plugging men into the ministries at CITAFC, thereby finding ways to serve within the church while helping our Christian brothers with their practical and spiritual needs.
3. Committed: Learning to be a spiritually mature, well-rounded and dedicated servant-leader for Christ.
4. Compassion: Reaching out to others in need, both in the church and in the community.
Biblical Reminders:
A) Hebrews 10:24-25: And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another even more as we see the day of the Lord coming.
B) Proverbs 13:20: He who walks with wise men will be wise, but the companion of fools will suffer harm.
C) Proverbs 27:17: As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.
Men's Ministry Interim Committee Objectives:
Items:
1. Bible Study: To actively participate in Bible study and implementation of the principles learnt. The forming of alliances is also important. It is essential that Men are given a place in the CITAFC's Yearly (activities) Calendar as most of the other Ministries. In regards to Men's Bible Study, it was suggested that a presentation of the previous three study nights be made at the beginning of every Men's Ministry meeting which will be held on the 3rd Thursday of each month starting at 7:30 pm. Sharp.
2. Breakfast Fellowships: Fellowships to be held twice yearly (every 6 months) starting in October 2010.
3. Men's Week: Men's Week to be included in the Church Calendar. Men will not be seen or accepted as leaders in the Church until they are recognized by the leadership as such. Therefore, they must be given similar opportunities to be actively engaged in church worship and to be seen as a serious body of ministers. Again, there should be regular meetings of the Men's Ministry and Pastoral Board, at least every three months.
4. Men's Retreats: To be determined through the discussions and agreement of the Men's Ministry. The possibility of a Fellowship Walk held once a year where other Men's Ministries are invited to participate to be discussed.
5. Men's Cell / Sub Groups: Cell / Sub Groups for various activities: e.g., hospital visitations, health and wellness discussions with various health care professionals, in-church and community-based mentorship programmes, etc.
6. Men's Outreach Projects: This will include fostering links with Jesus Loves and Cares International and give support to the work already being done in that area. Also, working with the youth of our assembly, particularly the young males through mentorship initiatives. Women and men are often required to form partnerships for the advancement of church ministries (e.g., Titus 2:2-8). A close working relationship between the Men's and Women's Ministries will undoubtedly strengthen this alliance for the glory of God.
7. Men's Sunday School (Sunday Fellowship Hour): This is an important development programme which is necessary for the upliftment and edification of men. Therefore, all necessary steps should be taken to ensure that Sunday Fellowship Hour is held and is accessible to all in a timely manner.
8. Social Activities: Picnics, dinners, visiting other Men's Ministries, etc. Other ideas are welcomed and will be given favourable consideration.
Emphasis:
1. Communication: Men will be given opportunities to pray at the beginning of Bible Study and Men's Ministry. Invitation to be in attendance at Friday nights’ Prayer and Praise Meetings is extended to all men. Men's Ministry will be a place where men do not feel intimidated and are allowed to express themselves among their peers.
2. Compassion: Fostering a working relationship with other fellowships and institutions in the area of humanitarian outreach, such as Teen Challenge, Farrs Children's Home and Jesus Loves and Cares International, etc.
